This Is Me

Hey! My name is Jennifer Barnett and I am the owner of TCWB! I am an LEO wife and a mother to two amazing little girls. I decided to finally go after my dream of being a boutique owner a couple years ago. To say it has been a learning experience is an understatement LOL. It has taken A LOT of research, a lot of time, and a lot of shopping (The BEST part) to even get to where I am today. There is a A LOT more learning and research ahead =).

I wanted to make The Cottonwood Barn an extension of who I am and what I love. I can't say I have a certain "style", but I love what I love and you will see that in the pieces I have in my shop.

I grew up in the country and I am a California native. Growing up we had horses, pigs, cows, chickens, you name it, we probably had it at some point. So, needless to say I was outside a lot. I also had and still have a HUGE love for music. My parents were and still are big time Elvis Presley fans and the radio was usually on some country western or oldies station. I don't think I knew any other genre of music than those two for sometime. In my youth I took many dance classes and when I wasn't dancing I was either at the mall with my friends the mall with my friends LOL. Yea, the love for fashion started young and I always thought it would be SO awesome to own my own shop! So, in my early 20's I got a job working retail at a family owned board shop in Newhall, CA and in a year or so I began to help with buying the girls product for the shop. That took me down to Northern County San Diego where I worked in the action sports industry at a now well known watch company. While working there I started to make one of a kind handbags, met my now husband and moved to Manhattan, NY. I was able to get my handbags in a few consignment stores on the upper westside and to my excitement they did very well. As much as I loved creating tangible items I didn’t have the time to devote to making one of a kind bags. My husband and I moved back to CA, got married, and soon after that had our first baby girl! Two 1/2 years went by, I got pregnant with our second daughter. I wasn’t creating like I wanted, so I started making hair bows for kiddos, infinity scarves for adults, and was selling them at crafting fairs. Once we moved to our now home I knew I wanted to finally make that DREAM a reality and start my own online clothing boutique. With a lot of research, figuring out logistics, and selling things I had made on Etsy, I finally decided it was time to start my business. The dream that took me 10 years to get the courage and time to do, has become a reality and I am happy to share with you my style and love for fashion!

My promise to all of you is to provide you babes with trendy, stylish, comfortable, and flattering clothing!
